Chimney Sweep and Cleaning in Keller
Keller grew from about 13,700 people in 1990 to more than 45,000 today, and most of its fireplaces were built in that same stretch. Hidden Lakes, the city’s largest planned community around the Sky Creek Ranch golf course, went up between 1996 and 2010. Marshall Ridge on the northwest side was built from 2008 to 2020. Highland Oaks dates to the late 1990s. That means most Keller fireplaces are factory-built metal units in wood-framed chases, usually with gas logs or a gas starter. The older ranch homes around Old Town Keller and the streets near Bear Creek Park are the exception, and many of those have full masonry chimneys.
Flower Mound Chimney Sweep Professionals sweeps both kinds. A metal flue gets a poly brush sized to its diameter so the liner is not scratched. A clay tile flue gets a wire brush on rods. Either way the fireplace is sealed, a HEPA vacuum runs the whole time, and the smoke chamber and firebox are cleaned along with the flue. The chimney sweep ends with a camera check and photos of what we found.
Chimney Inspection
Every sweep includes a Level 1 chimney inspection. We look at the firebox, damper, smoke chamber and visible flue from below, then check the cap, crown or chase cover, and flashing from the roof. Keller has a steady stream of home sales, and buyers’ inspectors often ask for a Level 2 inspection with a full video scan of the flue and a written report. We do those for sellers who want no surprises and for buyers who want the facts before closing.
Chimney Repair in Keller
On factory-built fireplaces the usual trouble is on top: a galvanized chase cover that has rusted through, a storm collar that has pulled loose, or a cap that hail has dented flat. On masonry chimneys it is a cracked crown, open mortar joints or flashing that spring storms have lifted. Our chimney repair work covers chase covers, siding and chase repair, crown repair, flashing, leak repair, chimney caps and relining when the camera finds cracked tiles or a rusted metal liner. We photograph the problem, explain it and give a free written estimate. The written price is the price you pay.
Fireplace and Gas Log Service
Most Keller fireplaces run on gas at least part of the time. When the pilot keeps going out, the burner lights unevenly or the glass fogs, that is a gas fireplace repair visit, and most are finished in one trip. We also install and replace gas log sets, clean wood-burning fireboxes and glass doors, and fix dampers that stick open or closed. Gas line work is done by a licensed plumber, as Texas law requires, and we coordinate that visit with ours.
Signs a Keller Chimney Needs Attention
- Smoke in the room when you light a fire
- A musty or campfire smell in the house during summer humidity
- Rust streaks on the siding below the chase cover
- Water stains on the ceiling or wall next to the chimney
- A pilot light that will not stay lit
- Chirping, scratching or droppings in the firebox
- More than a year since the last sweep or inspection
Any one of these is reason to book. Two or more means stop using the fireplace until it is checked.
How a Visit Works
- Book. Call (817) 518-6131 or send the form. We give you a time window and a firm price on the phone.
- Protect and sweep. Floor covered, fireplace sealed, HEPA vacuum on, every flue brushed with the right brush for tile or metal.
- Inspect. Camera up the flue, then the cap, crown or chase cover and flashing from the roof.
- Show you. Before and after photos and a written list of anything that needs attention, with prices. Nothing happens without your OK.
NFPA 211, the national standard for chimneys and fireplaces, calls for a yearly inspection for every chimney, wood or gas, because gas fireplaces still produce moisture and carbon monoxide that a blocked vent can push back into the house. See NFPA 211.
